Lost Sheep

Main Text: Luke 15:1-2

Description: Jesus came to seek and save the lost. In Luke 15, Jesus tells the story of a shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine sheep to search for the one that has wandered away. The shepherd doesn’t give up, doesn’t settle for 99%, and doesn’t resent the sheep when he finds it. Instead, he joyfully carries it home and celebrates. This picture reveals the heart of God: every person matters, and heaven celebrates when even one person who is far from God is found.

Jesus’ mission is still the mission of the church. At Coastline, we believe a healthy church has an unapologetic focus on the one: the person in our lives who is close to us but far from God. Following Jesus means joining His rescue mission by loving people, inviting them toward Jesus, and helping them take their next step of faith. For those wondering how to begin a relationship with God, the invitation is simple: believe in Jesus, repent and turn toward God, declare your faith, and be baptized. The lost can be found, the found can come home, and when they do, there is a celebration.
